THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING COUNSEL APPOINTS CHAIR, CO-VICE CHAIRS, SECRETARY AND TREASURER

John J. Glier, C. Ray Clements, Peter Woodburn, Michelle Cramer, CFRE, and Joseph L. Staley, CFRE, have been appointed Chair, Co-Vice Chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer, respectively, of the American Association of Fundraising Counsel (AAFRC).

John J. Glier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grenzebach Glier & Associates, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, has been elected Chair of AAFRC. Glier is active in providing a variety of client services including counsel to large-goal campaigns, the evaluation of development staff structures and programs, feasibility/planning studies for comprehensive campaigns, the use of information technologies in fundraising, and Board development and volunteer training.

C. Ray Clements, CEO and Managing Member of The Clements Group, L.C., Salt Lake City, Utah, has been elected Co-Vice Chair of AAFRC. Founded in 1986, The Clements Group has served over 450 clients during the past 15 years, focusing primarily on technical/community colleges and K-12 systems, although The Clements Group has served other higher education institutions as well as arts, healthcare, and social service organizations.

Peter Woodburn, Co-Founder, Senior Partner and CEO of Woodburn, Kyle & Associates, Madison, Indiana, has been elected Co-Vice Chair of AAFRC. Woodburn is active in his full-service firm that provides campaign planning studies, capital endowment campaigns, development programs and analysis, strategic planning, and client seminars. Woodburn began his fundraising career with the Indiana University Foundation. He then served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and upon return, became a campaign consultant with Haney Associates. He then moved on to serve as Executive Vice President of Healthcare Financial Consultants before founding Woodburn, Kyle & Associates in 1976.

Michelle Cramer, CFRE, President of Hodge, Cramer & Associates, Dublin, Ohio, has been elected Secretary of AAFRC. Throughout her career as a fundraising consultant, Cramer has helped raise more than $100 million for a variety of organizations. Hodge, Cramer & Associates is one of the fastest growing fundraising firms in the nation. Cramer is directly involved with the day-to-day management operations of the firm as well as providing leadership in the development and implementation of a variety of fundraising initiatives.

Joseph L. Staley, CFRE, President of Staley/Robeson, Inc.®, Stamford, Connecticut, has been elected Treasurer of AAFRC. Staley’s career encompasses service to a variety of institutions, spanning the not-for-profit sector in this country and abroad. His background includes extensive experience in the conduct of development studies and direction of capital and annual fund campaigns. In addition, his experience in the areas of campaign planning and strategy, leadership prospect identification and cultivation, and board and leadership gift solicitation qualify him as an effective and knowledgeable fundraising professional.
